    Brief Description: Article reprinted from The Salisbury Times concerning the history of an alabaster tablet dug up from a garden at the foot of Castle Hill in 1878 and donated to Mere Church in 1890 by Mr T H Baker. The tablet was reframed in stone in 1936 and can be found in the chancel of St Michael’s Church, Mere, 5th February 1937
